(d) How many of the policy holders are married women age 30 or more? (e) How many of the policy holders are unmarried and over 30?Explanation / Answer
Solution:
a) Policy holders are unmarried women = 36
Married women having policy = 31
Total number of females having policy = 67
Policy holders are unmarried women = 67 - 31 = 36
b) Policy holders are married men under age 30 = 17
Total number of policy holders who are married under age of 30 = 25
Total number of policy holders who are married women under age of 30 = 8
Policy holders are married men under age 30 = 25 - 8 = 17
c) Policy holders are unmarried men age 30 or more = 67
Total number of unmarried policy holders = 182 - 62 = 120
Number of unmarried women = 67 - 31 = 36
Number of unmarried men = 120 - 36 = 84
Policy holders are unmarried men age 30 or more =84 - 17 = 67
d) Policy holders are married women age 30 or more = 23
Total number of policy holders who are married women and under age 30 = 8
Policy holders are married women = 31
Policy holders are married women age 30 or more = 31 - 8 = 23
e) Policy holders are unmarried and over age 30 = 90
Number of unmarried women and under age 30 or more = 23
Number of unmarried men and under age 30 or more= 67
Policy holders are unmarried and over age 30 = 67 + 23 = 90
