a) The six class boundaries are:
(0 to 3)
(3 to 6)
(6 to 9)
(9 to 12)
(12 to 15)

These classs widths were chosen as the data lies from 1 to 17.2 millions, so it is sensible that the classes cover a range from a little less than 1 to a little more than 17.2. So we decide on 0 and 18 as the lower and upper limits of the lowermost and uppermost classes respectively. Then we just divide (18-0) by 6 to get width of each class.
