A study of students for change in their pocket expense is done to determine if there is sufficient evidence to conclude that pocket expense increases as students are promoted to second year graduation class from first year. For the purpose, students were randomly selected from two sections of three departments in the first year and asked for their pocket expense. The same students were again asked for their pocket expense, once they were promoted to second year. The dependent variable is pocket expense (in dollars) which is measured for two different years for paired students.
