Question
Is the location where students sit in a classroom associated with grade point average (GPA)? In order to investigate this question, a researcher at a university randomly selected 500 undergraduate students classified as upperclassmen from this university (from the population of upperclassmen students at this university). Among these 500 students, 150 students agreed to participate in a study. The GPA for each of these 150 students was obtained from the Office of Registration and Records. Each student also indicated where they typically sit in the classroom (front, middle, or back). Below are the summarized results of the study. The sample size, sample mean GPA, and sample standard deviation of GPA are provided for each "location" group. The normal probability plot of GPAs for students in each location group is also provided. Perform multiple comparisons using Tukey's method. Clearly show which pairs of means are significantly different and interpret your results within the context of the problem.Explanation / Answer
The results are given above. In the table i and j refers to the group. Thus group 1 and 2 are signficantly different and also group 1 and 3 are significantly different.
It can be observed that there is signficant difference between Front and Middle group. Also there is signficant difference between Front and Back group.
Thanks.
