Help with Feasibility paper: I got the first part done but I am still at a lost of how to do the rest. Any help is greatly appreciate becuase the instructor has been zero help so far!
1.) Purpose Statement: The dependent variable sale of a car is determined by independent variables mileage, price, space in the car, and model of car. Among these variables, the mileage and price of the car can be taken as the strongest impact on the dependent variable Sales of the car. The most important independent variable in this relationship will be the Model of the car because it depends on the preference or choice of the designer. ____________________________________________________________________________________________ 1) Purpose Statement In one paragraph, state the correlation and identify the primary independent variables. State the correlation as in the following: The dependent variable _______ is determined by independent variables ________, _________, ________, and ________. Identify and defend the primary independent variable, or the variable believed to have the strongest impact on the dependent variable: The most important independent variable in this relationship is ________ because _________.
2) Definition of Variables For each variable, write a single definition paragraph talking about the variable. Paragraphs should be in this order: dependent variable, primary independent variable, and three independent variables.
In addition to defining the independent variables, defend why each determines the dependent variable.
For the primary independent variable, at least two research sources that discuss the variable also must be cited. These sources need not be technical documents but should contain evidence to justify the relationship between the primary independent variable and the dependent variable. List these sources in the Works Cited (reference) page. **Note: Citations from encyclopedias, Wikipedia, blogs, abstracts, or non-governmental websites are not acceptable research sources.
3) Data Description For each of the variables, at least 30 observations of cross-sectional or time-series data must be obtained. Thus for the final research paper, a data matrix that is at least 30 rows by numbers of variables must be presented. In one paragraph, identify the data sources and describe the data (i.e., which government agencies supply the data, which methods are used to compile them, when they were collected, etc.).
4) Works Cited Page The final page of the proposal should be a
Works Cited page listing the two research sources for the primary independent variable and the data sources, with a separate citation for each table of data, including specific table numbers for each of the sources.
Explanation / Answer
Answers:
2. Sale of Car (Dependent Variable or Y): This is the dependent variable because this is the outcome of a group of events or variables. This is determined as a function of independent variables Mileage, Price, Space and Model. As and when these 4 variables change Y changes because all of them have heir own effect in the outcome. Say, if we change Mileage, keeping rest fixed, Y would change.
Mileage (X1): This is the first of 4 independent variables we are considering. This effects Y in terms of cost to the customer in terms of fuel, hence the customer will try to buy the car which has better X1.
Price (X2): This is the second of 4 independent variables we are considering. This effects Y in terms of initial cost to the customer when buying the car, hence the customer will try to buy the car which has lower X2 and at the same tie has all the other features needed by him or her.
Space (X3): This is the third of 4 independent variables we are considering. This effects Y in terms of comfort to the customer in terms of number of seats available, boot space, head space etc., hence the customer will try to buy the car which has better X3.
Model (X4): This is the last and most inportant of 4 independent variables we are considering. This effects Y in terms of preference to the customer in terms of design, version number, details etc hence the customer will try to buy the car which is desired by him. All other variables of no use if the model is not the one which customer wants.
NOTE: About the part which requires link or name of research paper to be cited and to provide data from there, I am not allowed to do that hence I have left that part, but the same can easily be found by doing a search on the internet.
