Question

I've collected a set of data (height of people) but I'm having a hard time proving whether it's a normal distribution or not. The full question I have to answer is as follows: "Does my data follow a normal distribution? Mathematically justify. If my data does follow a normal distribution, does this make sense? Why?" I've already created a bar graph (photo attached) and I've calculated my mean (5.45667) and standard deviation (0.29088). Any help is appreciated, thank you!

Count of Heights of People

Explanation / Answer

The data from the bar plot indicates that it doesn't follow a normal distribution because it doesn't resemble the bell shaped nature of a normal curve. To further verify this tests can be conducted on the data like the shapiro wilk's test whose p value can indicate whether it follows a normal distribution.
