Student has passed the exam. Find probabilities that this student has b) excellent preparation c) good level of knowledge d) average level of knowledge e) bad preparation

Explanation / Answer

Answer to the question as below:

a. Answer is weighted sum of prob to pass and total students with the respective performance,

P(pass) = 1*8+.90*6+.60*4+.20*2 = 16.2 will pass. So 16 will pass ultimately

For each level of prep, no. of students out of total students is given. So,

b. P(Excellent prep) = 8/20

c. P( good level of knw) = 6/20

d. P( avg level) = 4/20

e. P( bad prep) = 2/20
