Question
An experiment takes place where the keystrokes of the E, R and T keys are observed. The probability of missing the desired key to the left is 0.2. For example if you intend to hit R, you will hit E with probability 0.2. The probability of missing to the right is also 0.2. The probability of needing to type E is 0.1031. The probability of needing to type R is 0.0484. The probability of needing to type T is 0.0796. a. What is the probability that an R appears? b. What is the probability that an R appears in error?Explanation / Answer
a) probabilty that R appers =pressing E but make error of right for R+ pressing R and R appears+pressing T and make erro of left to R
=0.1031*0.2+0.0484*0.6+0.0796*0.2=0.06558
b)probabilty that an R appears in error =pressing E but make error of right for R+pressing T and make erro of left to R ==0.1031*0.2+0.0796*0.2=0.03654
