QUESTION: PER EXAMPLE ABOVE, IS SLOPE OF REGRESSION LINE POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE?
l signed up to drive for Uber about a month ago to supplement my income while attending SNHU full time. This is my first week actually driving. I only drive during the day and am lucky enough to live 2 miles from the beach so I can be online with Uber while at my house doing my course work while waiting for a rider. Since Monday, I've completed 12 trips. The base fare of Uber is exist.90. Then the rider is then charged by the distance (miles times exist0.9000/mi) and time (minutes times exist0.0975/min). There are variables. don't accept riders after 7: 00 PM, l don't drive on weekends, and l "go online" at 10: 00 AM. Any feedback would be great! Thanks so much.Explanation / Answer
Ans: In above statament, fare is function of two variables distance(miles) or time(minutes).
y(Fare)=0.9+0.9000x1+0.0975x2
x1 and x2 are units of miles and minutes repectively.
From above equation,it is clear that slope of regression line is positive.
