A researcher wants to test the theory that oldest siblings have the highest level of perfectionism. To do so, the researcher obtained data from 100 individuals that allowed him to put the participants into one of 4 groups: Oldest child, Youngest child, Middle child, Only child. Additionally, participants took a perfectionism questionnaire that gave them a perfectionism score out of 100 so he could compare perfectionism in the different groups. Which hypothesis test is appropriate for his study?

Chi square test is basically measures how good the distribution of data fits with the distribution that is expected if the variables are independent. So, here all the variables i.e. perfectionism scores are independent and we can see if the oldest sibling has the highest level of perfectionism.
