Explanation / Answer

A strategy can be defined as a plan which is formed to achieve a certain objective. It can be said as an implemented method of adhering to some specific steps in order to execute this strategy and have the desired goals while having a competitive advantage.

The main issue with the strategy of Robin Hood is the ramification of having an extended number of individual in his band. Initially, the significance of members was explained by him in his success but as the group increased, problems surfaced. There is a direct relationship between the increased number of group members and indiscipline and devotion along with the limitation of financial resources as more food is required to buy. Even the issues with the Sheriff were also experienced and what the best method was to weaken him; either kill him or possibly accept Baron's offer.

Robin Hood considered himself as a very good leader and it resulted in a myriad of duties for him. The band was created by him and he also looked for the members. He was the ultimate decision maker and was delegating the tasks to other members. The vision and mission of the band were also established by him and reminded others of their final priority. Even the affairs of money and taxes were also cared by him.

While dealing with external issues, there are two main factors; the resources and the forest.

Resources:- The big issue was related to the food as the food supply was hampering by the new travelers and members in the band and it was requiring the need to be ahead all the time.

Forest:- With increasing members in the band, the chances of being recognized were also increasing and it was becoming harder to hide and perform their ways in the shadows.

The relationship between the organizational structure and environment is of the centralized structure. The group was headed by Robin Hood and he was taking care of all affairs. With the increasing size of the group, some hard time had to be faced by Robin Hood due to external environment changes and thus the group became more decentralized.

The main idea for developing this mission and looking for the members to have the similar mission came from the values of unity and profit for the poor. These values were transformed to the future goals of the band. The members were together due to group culture, the Merrymen wanted to be a part of something that was bigger than themselves and help those in need. The main focus was on brotherhood in order to achieve this while knowing how to establish and execute the objectives.

The main focus should be on short-term goals of helping poor and while in case of long run, the focus should be on weakening or avoiding the Sheriff. In order to have this, the devotion must be towards the cause of the organization, having loyalty to each other and willingness to perform daring activities. He should also focus on making the band be ready to face any situation and be ready to deal with unexpected.
