The sponsor has additional funds to help complete the project on time if needed but does not want to increase risk to the project. Project C: This project is scheduled to take 18 weeks to complete. You are in the planning stage of the project. You need to reduce the schedule for this project by 5 weeks. This project has a number of predecessors that were created by the project team's preference. The sponsor insists on having all the work done on time without unduly increasing risk or costs to the project. For each of the project above, choose an appropriate schedule compression technique. For Project A:

In the given scenario all the soft predecessors has already been removed.
In this case we would have to take up the Fast Tracking method for reducing the time required in completion of the project.
We would have to analyze the critical path of the project and find out activities that can be completed as parallel activities so that the time required for the critical path is completed earlier.
Please note that the new time required should not be equal to or more than any other path of the project activities, if such situations arise then we have two critical paths to manage simultaneously.
For Project B:
Details:
In this case as additional resources can be deployed we use the Crashing technique to reduce the project time.
In Crashing technique we review the critical path to find which activities can be completed in less than scheduled time if additional resources are induces.
We identify such activities in which most time can be reduced by adding minimum extra resources.
For Project C:
Details:
The PERT – CPM scheduling should be done for this project where the length of critical path should be not more than 13 weeks.
