Question
of 5U mt 3. As shown below, a square loop of wire of side a moves through a uniform magnetic field of magnitude 8 perpendicular to the page at constant velocity V directed to the right. Which statement regarding the electric field induced in the wires is correct for the wires at the left and right sides of the loop? (Hint: Be careful of what is being asked here. I am not asking for the direction of current.) a The electric field E is directed upwards in both the right and left sides of the loop. The electric field E is directed upwards in the right side and downwards in the left side of the loop. b. C. The electric field E is directed upwards in the left side and downwards in the right side of the d. The electric field E is directed downwards in both the right and left sides of the loop e. There is no electric field present in any side of the loop. loopExplanation / Answer
Rule is :
Project fingers of right hand mutually prependicular such that,
Forefinger points towards magnetic field, thumb points towards thw velocity of conductor, then middle finger gives force on positive charge.
This force acts oppositively on negative charge and thus emf is generated.
Electric field is directed from positive to negative .
So, the force on positive charge is towards south and on negative one is along north(up).
This gives direction of incduced electric field i.e from down to up in bar/sides of square.
In upper and lower bar/side as l and v are parallel so no effect.
