Question
Find the domain of the following function. f(x)=x-2/x+3 (Choose of the following.) ------A. The set of all real numbers except where x=2-------- ------B. The set of all real numbers where x>-8 ------------ ------C. The set of all real numbers where x<-8 ------------ ------D. The set of all real numbers except where x=-8 ----------Explanation / Answer
I think you made a mistake while writting the question. From the options what i guess is f(x)=(x-2)/(x+8) is the actual function. This function is not defined at x=-8, lim x-> -8+=-infinity {approaching x=-8 from right hand side) and lim x->-8-=infinity {approaching x=-8 from left hand side) which clearly shows f(x) in not defined at x=-8,So we remove that point from the domain. Therefore the answer is D)The set of all real numbers except where x=-8.
