a) What are the factors and treatments for this experiment?

The dependent variable is the bones of first-year college students

The factors are Calcium doses and Vitamin doses

b) How would you randomize the 180 college students?

We have 90 men and 90 women , so randomly select 3 groups of 30 men and 30 women each

and then give them calcium and vitamin doses

c) Is there a placebo in this experiment? Explain your answer.

Yes , as we are giving 0 calcium and 0 vitamin D tablets and the subjects would not know , this is a placebo effect where the subject thinks that it is consuming calcium and Vit D tablets where in fact they are not consuming any.
