Explanation / Answer
Once the requirement for the organizational change is identified, the most important aspect remains how to manage this change process. In order to implement the successful change process in the organization, the manager should perform the following strategies:-
· Establishing a free and fair communication with the manpower is the basic requirement for the implementation of change. By addressing the concerns of the employees related to the changes, communicating them the requirements of changes and how this will help the employees, the manager can be successful in controlling or avoiding the resistance.
· Managers will be in need of a systematic and proactive approach and this can be achieved by following the process of overcoming resistance, engaging employees, implementing change in phases and communicating the change.
· The managers can involve the employees in the change process by making some of the employees as the change agents and ensuring the participation of other employees by inviting their suggestions, concerns, and opinions.
· Manager should form some change management teams which should address the concerns of the employees, educating them about the need for change and how they can benefit the employees.
· The manager can use both formal and informal mode of communication to convey the requirements of change to the employees.
Any kind of change process really has a greater impact on the overall morale of the manpower. There can be some employees who think that the change to be implemented in the organization will make than redundant in the organization and thus they will be concerned about their future in the organization. While some employees may not find it comfortable to work in the changed scenario and this will impact their performance and overall motivation level. In fact, resistance to change is the biggest issue which a manager has to face in these scenarios.
This issue is very closely related to the organizational behavior as it will have the intense and long-lasting impact on the overall organization. If the changes are implemented successfully keeping the manpower in confidence and seeking their support, it will really create a successful climate in the organization resulting in improved efficiency and performance. Otherwise, the organization may face serious consequences if the change is not managed effectively.
