(a) The line graph is inappropriate because it is representing the individual players shown in the x-axis as observations from a continuous variable which is not the case. The hits of the 6 players are discrete quantities they should not be connected with a single line to give a sense of trend.

(b) We can represent the data through pie diagram if the 7 players mentioned above account for a high percentage of the total hits.
