for 0.01 level critical value of z =2.326
Decision rule : reject Ho if test statisitc z>2.326
for n=250 and p=0.44 ; std error =(p*(1-p)/n)1/2 =0.0314
samle proportion phat =130/250=0.52
therfore test statistic z=(phat-p)/std error =(0.52-0.44)/0.0314=2.548
as test statistic z is greater than critical value we eject nullhypothesis . we have suficient evidence to conclude that success rate of first time takers of the exm improved.

as rejection of null hypothesis may lead to type I error ; therefore this might lead to type I error .the consequence fo this that unnecessary focus on prepatory classess and online tutorials will increase.
