Investigators were interested in knowing whether diseased individuals had higher blood levels than normal individuals. A sample of individuals with disease was compared with a sample of individuals without the disease.

Independent two samples t-test will be appropriate for above situation,as we have to compare the mean plasma potasssium amount in blood for two diffeerent groups disease vs without disease,so samples will be independent.

One tailed test will be used,as we are interested to know whether diseased individuals had higher plasma potassium levels than normal individuals.
