Explanation / Answer

12) Simple random sampling (SRS) was used in this case. A simple random sample is a set of n objects in a population of N objects where all possible samples are equally likely to happen. Since we are given that there was a fifty percent chance for the call then both 'Yes' and 'No' are equally likely and have same probability of being chosen.

13) Stratified sampling was used by the researcher. In stratified sampling the population is divided into seperate groups called strata which are of equal size.(Cluster sampling is also the same wherein the population is divided into different clusters but the clusters may not be of equal size).

14) In sampling a Frame is a set of criteria in relation to which measurements or judgements can be made. We have selected several midwestern towns that have high schools as our methodology we need to select high school boys from these selected midwestern towns as our our criteria for selection. So option C would be appropriate.

15) Treatment is the condition which is applied to experimental units. These treatments lead to the different results produced during experiments.
