Sample SD, S = 18.68

Sample Variance = 349.2

COV = (S/m)*100 = (18.62/45.2)*100 = 41.19%

For y-data, we have:

Sample mean, m = 52.8

Sample SD, S = 8.1

Sample Variance = 65.7

COV = (S/m)*100 = (8.1/52.8)*100 = 15.34%

So,

CV is the ratio of standard deviation to mean, and CV for mallard ducks is higher.

Since the y-data group has smaller standard deviation, so it is more consistent and more centred around the mean.
