In the corporate setup, a group generally refers to the business unit, the individuals belonging to the same group perform within the same functional domain of expertise. The individuals belonging to a business group perform the operational activities with involvement of the other group members. However, for the team it generally involves crossfunctional contributors from different business groups. The team is made for strategic projects generally spanning across long and short term.
The individual participation and behaviour impcats the team and the group in very similar ways because both the structural entitites majorly require similar degree of attention and involvement from an individual. The individual attitute especially if positive or negative can have a very significant impact on the team performance especially as he/ she is the contributor from the function and would prove to be growth simulator / bottleneck owing the nature of his/ her attitude.
While in a group, the individual behaviour would be critical for he smooth operations and going over and above the expectations depending on the individual attitude.
