Question
Suppose you work for Coca Cola and are assigned to test new sodas they are developing: Lemon Libation and Grapefruit Guzzle. Specifically, you want to find out if adults aged 18 -34 prefer one over the other.
You have fifty volunteers at your laboratory who can stay for one hour to taste the sodas and give you their feedback on preference.
Describe how you will use the volunteers and get their feedback on which is the better soda (200 words maximum). Here are some key things to think about as you describe your experiment. Will you block by gender or other attribute? Will you give the volunteers the sodas in the cans? Will everyone taste both sodas? If so, will everyone taste Lemon Libation first? How will you compare the results?
Explanation / Answer
For testing we have to apply sampling methods.
We divide the male group into two sub groups and female group into two sub groups.
First we apply sampling for male groups, in this they will taste two soda flavors. As per sampling we have to select 10 percent from the total population for obtaining best option outputs for the given inputs.
Next we apply sampling methods for female groups.
After careful investigation , we have to conclude which soda is better. For this we have to use testing of hypothesis. In this we have to use t test for different means for comparison.
Everyone will not taste all the soda flavors, selected people from all groups will taste soda flavors.
Definitely selected people will taste both flavors.
