How was the sample taken and what was the result of the survey? Suppose someone said to you, "Sure, of the 1,042 surveyed by the poll, 90% agreed, but I bet if you interviewed all American adults you would likely find only 50% agreeing!" Is this an accurate assessment and why? BEYOND THE NUMBERS 2.2

Explanation / Answer

1)    Sample was taken through poll, 1042 adults were selected nation wide

The result was 90% people from sample supported the fact that texting while driving is illegal where 8% did not

As sample is having diversity nationwide the probability of population suggestion will not vary by large percentage.

Thus, statement 50% people will only support has very low probability. It might not be wrong but the possibility is very low
