Explanation / Answer
The data collected is quantitative.
Method of associations (Measurment of odds ratios) used here.
The potential weakness of data analysis is (Measures of association) odds ratios can behave paradoxically, by failing to show a reinforcement effect that is expressed very clearly when risk ratios are used.
Inclusion criteria:
1) Pregnant woman consume alcohol during pregnancy.
2) woman who consumed alcohol before pregnancy.
Exclusion criteria:
1) No data..
2) Population or sub-population with known alcohol consumption before pregnancy or alcohol consumption before pregnancy is equivalent. Also does not include minimum outcomes.
It was an observational study.
The methods used to collect the data was questionnaire method and explain the methods are appropriate based on the research question because it will contain all the questions which is useful to draw conclusion. Also participant will not feel uncomfortable.
The collected was quantitative. For example suppose Among the participants, 91% consumed alcohol before pregnancy and fewer than 20% reported consuming alcohol during pregnancy. The adjusted odds ratio (aOR) for preterm birth associated with prepregnancy alcohol consumption was 0.81 (95% confidence interval [CI], 0.70-0.95). We did not find a risk reduction for overall drinking during pregnancy, aOR = 1.03 (95% CI, 0.90-1.19). However, dose-response analyses showed tendencies toward adverse effects when drinking 1-3 times per month during the first 15 weeks of pregnancy, aOR = 1.51 (95% CI, 1.14-2.00).
The software we can use is SPSS. The key demographic of the population are the woman who are pregnant and used consumed alcohol or consume alcohol during their pregnancy.
