1. In the last decade or two, there has been a surge of popularity in vegetarianism. One of tho many benefits that vegetarians claim is increased lifespan. There also seems to be scientific evidence of this, with some studies finding small increases in lifespan. However, studies of this nature are observational, meaning that they use data in which vegetarianism has not been randomly assigned.
