To stimulate the creative thinking of a team, it is often Is valuable to challenge the assumptions that each team member may have that are influencing their decision making or problem solving approach. Assumptions sometimes box or constrict our thinking by anchoring thoughts in our minds. Think of a situation that you have been involved with where assumptions by you or your team led to a poor decision or solution. Please explain what was assumed in your example and how the assumption(s) led to a deficient outcome.

Assumption means someones belief , hypothesis , expectations and a virtue to see a particular incident. assumptions can be of many type it could be cultural, economical, financial or personal assumptions. Sometimes to take a decisions we need some assumptions such as to predict a market demand of a good or service we assume that the political and economical environment will be stable. But there are few assumtions that are not real and comes as a hinderance to the correct and innovative decesion making as those assumtions will make you believe that any change will not be accepted.

Challenging the assumptions will require to break those stereo typical approach towards communicating, problem solving and new creation by raising awareness about benefits and limitations of using previous methods or beliefs in new given environment or market and questioning the blindly.followed things and processes.

to tell a story and a situation were due to asumptions i really lost an opportunity here it goes: when I moved into a new residential societty I had a dream to start a new busuness in that particular locality and that business was of a children day care. I had all the resources to start the venture but some how I had a notion that the local authorities will not allow usage of the area commercial purpose. i kept on wondering what to do because i did not wanted to start the work far from my residence and nearby places were all residencial .Then almost after a month I heard that some other guy was about to start the children day care inside the locality and has taken the permission to do so and since children day care was a need for the local residents of that area the permissions were granted.Hence just because i had a false assumption and notion and did not take enough courage to challange the situation I lost a good opportunity.
