b) In statistics, the intraclass correlation (or the intraclass correlation coefficient, abbreviated ICC) is an inferential statistic that can be used when quantitative measurements are made on units that are organized into groups. It describes how strongly units in the same group resemble each other.

The Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC) is a measure of the reliability of measurements or ratings.

For the purpose of assessing inter-rater reliability and the ICC, two or preferably more raters rate a number of study subjects.
