Question
Need ASAP SOS this assignment was sprung on me and i have no idea what im doing:
You have a tennis test with five trials. Estimate the intraclass reliability of the 5-trial test from the following data: trial 1 variance = 10; trial 2 variance = 12; trial 3 variance = 13; trial 4 variance = 15; trial 5 variance = 10; total variance = 100.
Describe the relationship between reliability and objectivity.
How do you determine whether a reported Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient is a reliability coefficient or a validity coefficient?
When estimating the agreement between two clinical or laboratory measures, what is one of the major drawbacks to using correlation or regression statistical methods?
Explanation / Answer
ANSWER :-
The formula for interclass reliability is given as below:
Coefficient of interclass reliability = = (K/(K – 1))*(1 – (S2trials / S2total)
We are given
K = 5
S12 = 10, S22 = 12, S32 = 13, S42 = 15, S52 = 10
S2trials = 10+12+13+15+10 = 60
S2total= 100
Coefficient of interclass reliability = (K/(K – 1))*(1 – (S2trials / S2total)
Coefficient of interclass reliability = (5/(5 – 1))*(1 – (60/100))
= (5/4)*(1 – 0.60)
= 1.25*0.40
= 0.5
Reliability :-
Reproducibility - A reliable test should obtain approximate the same results regardless of the number of times it is given.
Relability depends on
a. Reducing variation attributable to measurement error
b. power to discriminate among different level of ability within group measured.
OBJECTIVITY :-
The degree to which different examiners obtain the same score for a given performance
