1) In the data table below, freshwater growth data for 40 female and 40 male salmon are presented, as recorded by the Alaska Dept. of Fish and Game. Assuming that the data reflect independent random samples and that the freshwater growth for male and female salmon are normally distributed, use this data to test the hypotheses that the freshwater growth is the same for male and female salmon, that is: H0: µF = µM vs. H1: µF µM using an = 0.01 significance level.
