Question
Week 13 Lab Quia(TR (becomes greater/becomes smaller) As sample size increases, what happens to the width of the two-sided confidence interval? (becomes greater/becomes smaller) 2. 3. This question has two parts: a, what do we hope to capture in a 95% confidence region over the long run? b. What do we mean by the term long run? Suppose the 95% confidence interval for the mean of a population is loss. Test the null hypothesis Ho: 12 versus the alternative Hoi Based on given information, what is your decision? 4. 12 at the 05 level of significance. 5. Explain how to obtain t* and t** in the formula for a 95% confidence region.Explanation / Answer
As per the Chegg policy, we are advised to do one question at a time still i am attempting the first two.
1. As we increase the confidence level, the critical value increases and therefore, the margin of error increases.
Since width = 2*(Margin of Error)
Width becomes greater when we increase the confidence level.
2. As we increase the sample size, the margin of error decreases since margin of error is inversely proportion to the square root of sample size.
Since width = 2*(Margin of Error)
Width becomes smaller when we increase the sample size.
