Question
We want to find out the functional form of the relationship between the how often someone visits a fast food restaurant and how important food quality is when choosing a restaurant. More specifically, we think the number of visits to fast food restaurants may "drive" the importance of food quality. Using the regression results, answer the following questions a) (2 points) What percentage of total variation in the importance of food quality is explained by the number of visits to a fast food restaurant? b) (5 points) We think that those that visit fast food more often will rate the importance of food quality higher. To see if this is statistically significant, test the following hypothesis Ho: 6s0 Ha: 6>0 Report the conclusion, including the value of regression coefficient, its p-value, and the interpretation of the regression coefficient. (2 points) Using the regression results, what is the predicted importance of food quality for someone who visits fast food restaurants 5 times in the past 7 days? c) Model Summary Model R Square Adjusted R Squae Std. a)
Since the R square of the model is 0.004
0.4% of the total variation is explained.
b)
The value of the regression coefficient is 0.027 with a p value of 0.07
This means that the importance of food quality increases by 0.027 with a unit increase in times visited in last 7 days.
But since the p-value is 0.07, which is greater than the significance level of 0.05; we fail to reject H0.
c)
The predicted importance in food quality
= 4.456 + 0.027 * 5
= 4.591
