Ha: The mean improvement of long-term concentration is greater for the jumping jacks treatment The school will allow students to do jumping jacks during class if the null hypothesis is rejected. What are the possible Type I and Il errors? Describe the consequences of each in the context of this study and discuss which type you think is more serious. (5 points)

A)

The research study can be design by randomly assign half of the 150 students to the task jumping jacks and other half to the task sitting till. This is called the randomized control study and the means of the outcome compared using the two sample t test to see the significance of the test.

B)

The type I error occurs when the null hypothesis is rejected incorrectly and type II occurs when failed to reject the null hypothesis when it is false. Here null hypothesis is that there is no difference in mean improvement of either treatment. So the type I is if the school do not allow students to do the jumping jacks when there is significant improvement in concetration. The type II error will be if the teacher allow the students to do the jumping jacks and while there is no significant improvement in concentration to do the jumping jack
