Explanation / Answer

Soln,

The test score for prof. yong's management class can be written as from the leaf and stem table

at 10:00 am

53,53,53,57,58,64,64,72,73,74,74,77,78,78,78,89

at 11 :am

52,55,56,58,63,69,72,73,74,75,79,79,83,83,85,86,88,95,98

all are in ascending order

(a) Range can be found out by Highest value - Lowest value

So, for 10 am class Range will be 89-53= 36

simmilarly for 11 am class

Range will be 98-52= 46

(b) Median For class 10 am will be (72+73)/2 = 72.5

and for Class 11 am will be 75

Since median can be found by Looking at the middle value of a sample, if the sample is arranged in ascending order.

so, Class 11 am has higher median score.

(c) From the leaf stem plot it is evident that at for 10 am there is only 2 scores in 60s which are 64and 64

and also for 11 am class the scores in 60s are 63 and 69 , so Each had the same scores in 60s.
