Explain why this presentation of the data does nst allow you to caiculate the meen b. According to the StartFraction n plus 1 Over 2 EndFraction rule, the mediam value fals at what location? The median value falls mid-way between value the dataset c. Use your answer to part b. (and the table of data/counts) to determine the median number of hours reported for watching TV per day The median value would be hours of television per dey d. [Hint: You could produce a graph frst or simply look for a pattern in the counts) f. it we did have the actual deta for the 13 people grouped togecher in the "More than 12*" category, would you expect the mean to be larger than the median, smaler than the median, or very close to the median? Expiain You woald expect the mean to be the median because the distribution is Click if you would like to Show Work for this question: Open Show WorkExplanation / Answer
(a) Here the last qualification shows "more than 12" number of hours which cannot be quanitified so mean cannot be calculated.
(b) As the total sample size is 1324. The half value is 662 so the cumulative frequency of 662 and 663 falls in between those group. that will be the medium group.
so the median value falls between 1 and 2.
(c) the median value is
The median value would be = (662.5 - 360)/(714 - 360) * (2 - 1) + 1 = 1.8545
(d) The median number of watchinf TV hours is not 6 as distribution of frequency is not symmetric.
(e) Here the shape is rightly skewed.
(f) Here as the distribution if rightly skewed the mean would be on the right of the median.
