Question
A PhD student has conducted the following experiments, which complete a full factorioal 2^2 experimental design, in order to determine the effects of nitrogen gas flow rate and applied power on the amount of incorporated nitrogen in plasma prepared thin film. Please help him organize his data set and determine the effe3ct of each parameterU as well as potential Interaction effect. Determine if the effects and the interactions are statistically signficant.Use your results to propose a simple empirical model for the data.Explanation / Answer
The result of the factorial design is given below
In the above table N = Nitrogen flow rate
P = plasma power
C= Nitrogen content
From the above table it is clear that p value of F statistic corresponding to Nitrogen flow rate (N) and plasma power (P) is less than 0.05, thus we can say that both factors N and P darw significant impact on the amount of nirogen in plasma preopared thin flim.
Also, p value of F statistic corrosponding to interaction of P and N is not less that 0.05, thus at 5% level odf significance it can be said that interaction factor does not draw significant impact on the amount of nitrogenn plasma preopared thin flim.
