29. I got this wrong twice. I would love some help! Thanks so much!
Suppose that the distance an aircraft travels along a runway before takeoff is given by D = (10 / 9)t2, where D is measured in meters from the starting point and t is measured in seconds from the time the brakes are released. The aircraft will become airborne when its speed reaches 200 km / h. How long will it take to become airborne, and what distance will it travel in that time? How long will the airplane take to become airborne? Sec (Type an integer or a decimal.) What distance will the airplane have traveled in the time obtained in the previous step? m (Type an integer or a fraction.)Explanation / Answer
D = (10/9)t2
Speed = dD/dt
Speed = (10/9) x 2t
For airborne, speed = 200 km/h = 200 x 1000/3600 m/s = 500/9 m/s
(10/9) x 2t = 500/9
2t = 50
t = 25 sec
D = (10/9) 252 m = 6250/9 m
