Explanation / Answer

1. good question

It is the most buring issue between the companies which maintains peopole data and those which buy the data from these people. In commercial point of view it may be right for thinking and practicing, but if we consider in other aspects, it is not correct both legally and ethically. A customers believes in you and in your services, that is the reason why the customer provide all the information to you, which includes personal, and cofidential also. But, for your busienss purpose, to generate some additional income you are going to sell it to someone else who approaches you. It is ok, but if those purchased parties uses the information for any unothorsised or illegal activities with the information, the customer is going to be caught. Then, it is more danger to the customer, to the nation also. So, more discussions should be drawn about this concept, new legislations and policies must be introduce and proper protection should be create for the data provider and to the data also.

2. The data receiver should take responsibility to proper utilization of the data. If it is noticed that the inforamtion is misused or used for any other unacceptable purposes, the data collected firm should take the responsiblity about the consequnces, but not the person. Now, if the data is misused, it is the risk associated with the person who given the data.

First, the data collection process must be unified. the collection process must be divided into data Most general information like gender, date of birth, qualification etc, next some personal information like family background, hobbies, contact details, priorities etc, and next most confidential information like employment details, healthcare details, other income sources etc. The first segment of information can be utilized by all the firms, and there is not worry about these to the person. But the next two segmetns of information must be utilized with the acceptance of the person only. If any one theft the information or used this without the person concern, they will be penalized.
