Explanation / Answer

The psychological state of being of Adolescents as far as an impoverished area is concerned is quite bleak in comparison to the more affluent counterparts.

Maladaptive behavior as well as adolescent delinquency burgeons in these areas. Emotional distress is felt acutely and affects the individuals quite profoundly due to the monetary constraints that are experienced and observed in such urban areas.

Empirical analysis as well as questionnaires of self report measure would be utilized to gain the required information. Although, the potential error that could arise from the aforementioned methods would be on the part of the chief investigator during observation, which could be tainted by subjectivity. And, the self report measure could also have a few errors by the virtue of not procuring honest answers by the participants of the study in order to appear desirable.

Hypothesis would be the Affect of poverty on the emotional well being of adolescents and the null hypotheses would be that there is no significant correlation between the two variables: poverty and emotional well being.

Many ethical issues can be encountered during a research study such the one mentioned above.

The first could be an unintentional one, confirmation bias is at all times to be avoided and circumvented with alacrity. In order to prove ones hypotheses, an investigator can overlook important aspects and only give importance to aspects that conforms ones hypothesis.

Other, more intentional, ethical issues could be the manipulation of statistical evidence in order to approve and hence validate ones hypothesis. Also the problem could also raise when ones personal views regarding a particular sect, gender, culture infiltrate the analysis of a study. it would be tainted by subjectivity and not objective facts.

These issues can be negated by hiring of personnel and experts to review ones study in order to have fresh pair of eyes giving a fresh perspective and a more objective one.

The socio economic status and its affect on the mental faculties of an individual would be quite rudimentary to under stress and emotional predicaments that are faced by manifold society and communities hence individuals. And would be quite important in developing ways of alleviating and assuaging these discomforts with tact and efficacy. Hence, it s of great importance for subsequent research within the realm of Psychology.
