Counselling is about understanding and solving problems.and those problems are not like financial or any work related problems, they are ostly behavioural problems. Every individual has got his own set of ideas and to a certain extent a person is ready to change or mould, this applies to counsellor also. Suppose a counsellor is grown in a region where he/she doesn't often sees homosexual,or other sexual orientation. In this case the counsellor may face serious problems of values while helping the . Further economic classes also play an important role, a counsellor who had his upbringing in middle class may have different set of ideas alltogether for the patient who is coming from totally rich background - eg of dealing the patinet's parents, environment etc. There his values may be put into question. I found I area quite convincing and I do not find any gray area in that. I area has a title named resolving ethical issues. I section says that counsellor should known ACA guideline well, and should refer to it whenever in doubt. If there is any doubt whether a particular ethical practise is against the law then counsellor having more knowledge of ACA should be seeked such as ACA ethics and professional standard department. lack of knowledge or misunderstanding may not be accepted. If there is any conflict between the law and ethics, the measures should be taken considering what is best for the client. If at all there is reporting of voilation of ethics, then it should be informed to appropriate instituional authorities.
