When in Rome be a Roman. It’s the old adage that explains the entire article in nutshell. Organism that adopts to the new environment will always thrive. Most of the people in this world has a problem in going along with people from other cultures, religions, language etc. As the world becomes a global village, it becomes the need of the hour that people understand the culture, norms and language of the community one lives in and behave according to the locality where one lives. For example, if I go to an eastern country and behave and dress in the same way I live and behave in my western context, I would be kept away as an alien. Speaking the language of the local community where one lives, will get them attached to the local community. When white people tried to introduce Jesus to Black people, they didn’t accept a white Jesus. Then they introduced a black Jesus who looked very similar to them. When the British ruled almost the entire world, they learnt the local language. When McDonalds tried to introduce non-veg Burger people didn’t like it because most of them were vegetarians and they introduced veg burger.
I don’t have any issue in working and living with other people from different language and culture. I learn their culture and appreciate their language. When I go out to other countries, I try to live like them by doing whatever they do. I bring a change in my body language and the way I behave with them. I maintain my identity but I go along with them by adapting their culture and behaviour.
