Research has shown that the involvement of noncustodial fathers in the lives of their children can both reduce negative outcomes found in many never-married families and may actually increase positive outcomes. Thus, most agree that encouraging fathers to get involved with their children should be a goal of a society. Interestingly, many argue that many current social policies actually discourage father’s involvement in the process. After conducting research on the web what factors do you feel keep many noncustodial fathers from being involved in their children's lives? What are the benefits to having both parents involved in the lives of their children? What can be done in your own community to encourage noncustodial fathers to become more involved? Fathers are as important as mothers in the lives of children. It is essential for the complete and balanced development of children that both the parents are equally available and present for the emotional needs and to develop a good self identity in the children. Absence of father or mother, the primary caregivers with whom the initial attachment occurs in a child's life creates a void that's remains through the life of the child and may create a serious problem for the child in future.

To tackle this problem of absence of non-custodial fathers awareness should be created among the people for the importance of fathers in the lives of every child, every individual. Steps should be taken eliminate the bias in policy making regarding the role of father in the lives of children. They should be given importance equal to the importance of mothers. Active involvement of fathers should be encouraged. Policies regarding teenage pregnancies should be made in a way that both the partners involved and responsible for the child should actively participate in the rearing and looking after the child to be born. Policies to ensure fathers active involvement in the lives of children among divorced partners should also be considered and implemented by the institutions of the society.
