The Best-Laid Plans279 THE BEST-LAID PLANS Eric and Dardina had just cut two dozen 4 pound beef tenderloins into portions. It was Friday afternoon and the special for Saturday was filet pounds, though, to get the bargain rate so this special'd probably last all w end depending on how business was. Trick was p mign ning a special on whole tenderloins that Thursday. Had to order over un on. It was from Tate Brothers, their regular meat suppl grilled filet lier. They'd been it'd move. Spoilage was a dirty word pricing it accordingly so that He'd had a discussion earlier with John and decided a price of $17 would ensure a sellout. Dardina made a quick phone check around town on what their closest competitors charged for one-pound filets. They came in at least a buck less than everybody. John always had a bargain basement entree with the spe- cials, though usually it was a pasta or similar-caliber dish with less pricey in gredients. This was a one-time deal, though, according to the delivery guy Middle-aged dude named Mack with the weirdest nose he'd ever seen on a body wasn't eating ants. Really long and reddish in color Looked like an aardvark That's what they called him in the kitchen when he wasn't around. The Aardvark. Did you confinn that delivery time yet with the Aardvark? Or, Has the Aardvark stopped by? Real nice guy, though. Said there'd been·snafu at the office where somebody typed an extra zero on the order form. Four hundred pounds of tenderloin He wanted to send the guy a Christmas card or something. In the restaurant business there was a very thin profit margin. One of the biggest responsibilities Eric had as kitchen manager was cutting corners-and the best way to do that was by adapting his menu to reflect seasonal changes in produce and meat availability. Accordingly, items on the specials menu were usually the most profitable "If I look at another dead steer," said Dardina, applying a dry spice rub to a tray of 24 filets, T'm gonna hurl. Eric smiled. Yeah? Just don't do it on the steaks. Not to worry," she laughed. Eri c had a large silver mixing bowl they'd been using to store end-cuttings rom the tenderloins. There were a couple packages of 6 inch bamboo skew ers s wasn t oaking in a pan of water they planned to use for making shish kebobs. There much you could do with the tapered ends of tenderloins. Same excel course-and just as costly-but it didn't work for too many dishes lent meat, that n't involve bamboo skewers. The filets needed to marinate overnight aix-in, but these kebobs'd move tonight as appetizers on the specials Aittle red wine and garlic/ancho pepper marinade, and there ya go. might think that 96 pounds of steak worked out to 96 one-pound ten the der wanted to ds but that's not the way it worked. Not by a long shot. Not everybody eat a pound of beef, so there were the petite portions (8 oz.), andExplanation / Answer
Answer (A):
Yes, I believe that a worked ethic can improve, Following are the two different techniques that we can use as a manager to help improve an employees work ethic are as below
Answer (B)
We do not believe that a work ethic can be improved at the organization, because the work ethics comes in the character of the employees and generally this comes in the character of employees who have hard working parents. Thus hard working parent’s son or daughter will have high work ethics in them. As per the case study, the work ethics are the qualities or characteristics of the employees which they have taken from their parents or relatives whom they have seen with work ethics and they are following those work ethics in their work as well.
Evidences: We have seen many employees who have high work ethics, are mainly the son or daughter of the people who have high work ethics. Thus these are the genetic character and cannot be developed in the organization by the manager.
