As a kindergarten teacher, I have experienced kids imitating each other and their teacher while playing. These kids learn while imitating and socializing with their peers. Sometimes kids imitate their teachers, sometimes their parents sometimes friends. The language of kids develops as they learn in school through, listening and imitating and socializing.
