What guidelines would you provide to parents whose children fall in the age range of 7 to 12 on media exposure?

Explanation / Answer

Noddy. In the episode: Noddy and Martha Monkey, the moral issue presented in this episode is a ‘friend in need is a friend indeed’. The characters responded normally where, Martha the monkey is a person who is jolly in behavior and keeps mocking noddy, but does so with good intent. Noddy doesn’t like her and behaves rudely with her. On the other hand, when required she comes all the way down to help him with a lost tyre. This is a normal behaviour. And noddy was happy about it and obliged for Martha the monkey, allowing her to sit in his car. The older tv shows and movies were more inclined towards sending across messages in the form of movies and were more concentrated in spreading across more positive messages. The children shows appeared to be very simple and way more easier to understand. There was less violence and less negative as compared to shows like shinchan. Regarding media exposure, parents need to take care that the media that the children are exposed to should be such which increase the positive affect of the child keeping them away from negativity and wrong messages.
