Module 10: Animal Rights Discussion Either we eat meat, or we don't. Some of us claim that while we would love to not eat meat, it's just not convenient enough to do so. Some of us are staunch defenders of a carnivorous existence. Others maintain healthy diets that don't include anything that had parents So what about you? Explanation / Answer

In the recent last, there has been a great deal of arguments about not consuming meat. For people who take that argument that we are consuming animals, on the religious platform- the argument presented would be that “the Bible suggests that humans can have a dominion over animals”. People have different cultures. In many of the cultures eating meat has been done since the childhood , and people have grown up eating meat, unquestioned. For such people, it gets difficult to accept the idea that they would not consume meat. If killing of an animal isnirrstional for food, then out fore fathers, our ancestors and animals themselves should be considered immoral. It should be remembered that the initial humans, as they started eating, they started hunting and eating. For hunting, specialised tools were also developed. Further, the advent of fire made meat consumption more advanced, as people bagels to cook meat in fire. There have been no instances of humans cooking vegetables in fire. It has developed demographicallyin areas where there would be deprivation of animals. So, the initial instinct of humans was to eat meat, and then revert to being vegan, with evolution. Further, one animal eats the other. If humans eating animals is immoral, one animal eating the other is also immoral. Moreover, the question of population control. It is also argued that if humans do not eat the animals, their population would become so high, that it would not be controllable. And we cannot go around to sterilise each of the pigs. Also, if it is so immoral to eat animals, experimenting on animals for drugs should also be equal,y immoral. Hence, I vouch for being a non vegetarian.
