Microsoft is a multinational company headquartered in Washington. It was started in the year 1975, started with personal computing operating system with MS-DOS.followed by Microsoft windows. Microsoft has time to time innovated and forayed into various business and technology.
Microsoft core competency is to build world leadership in design and develop cloud computing products to increase organisational productivity .Their core competency is in technologies like windows operating system, business solutions, Microsoft network, developer tools, mobile phones etc. Microsoft has diversified into various businesses like innovating cloud computing software, better versions of windows updating, acquisitions of firms like LinkedIn, Skype, mns search engines and also forayed into mobile phone by acquiring nokia service division. Timely innovation and diversification has helped them to sustain and are important elements that served as a guiding force. If they would have stopped making innovating products, firm would have lost to its competitors. Microsoft strived to innovate and gave better technology.
