Question

I have a question on psychology

This is about Operant and Classical Conditioning. I need to find advertisements that used the Operant or Classical Conditioning

I know the Classical conditioning and easily found one, but having trouble finding one for the Operant Conditioning

so my question is,

What ads can be Operant Conditioning? if you can, can you give me two examples of specific ads? and explain the concept of reinforcement and punishment on ads you specifically chose?

Is "The Real Cost Commercial: 'Your Skin'" Operant or Classical Conditioning? kinda confusing.

Explanation / Answer

Any advertisement that promises something extra or cause any harm is operant conditioning ads. For example, when a store promises coupons and cash back after a period of time, they are using positive reinforcement to increase a behaviour. Think of rewards for your purchase from a store in a shopping mall, it’s an example of positive reinforcement used to increase the buying behaviour. When an institution or store says that you need to pay your subscriptions on time otherwise you will incur a fine, they use negative reinforcement to increase the behaviour.

The ad that you mentioned "The Real Cost Commercial: 'Your Skin'" belongs to operant conditioning. It uses punishment to stop a behaviour that is smoking.
