Suppose that you were a member of a congressional or other type of committee that has as its mandate determining the type of crime that could be considered to be punishable by death. What kinds of cases, if any, would you put on the list and why? Sexual assault and killing of a minor? Planned killing of a batterer by his (or her) spouse? Persons convicted of war crimes? Mob leaders or others who give an order to kill but who do not carry it out themselves? Killing of a police officer or public figure? Multiple murderers? Others?

Why would you pick out just those crimes on your list as appropriately punished by death or as the worst crimes?

Ans. The punishment is a mean to show the society that offensive or criminal behaviour is not acceptable. To punish a people or decide the punishment was never easy task because of humanity, democracy and social rights but if punishment is necessary, this meant to be a symbol of justice and social value and also a fear for those who are not criminal but tend to be that.

All of the above crimes punishable offence but if the committee determining the type of crime that could be considered to punishable by that-

1- Sex assault or killing of minor – sex assault or killing of minor shows the retardation of social values as well as fearlessness to society , this offence make people worry about their families, friends and specially person who are near to us.

2- Person convicted to war crimes- the person convicted to war crimes is mass murderer and create fear in society and also decrease the value of human rights.

3- Mob leader is also doing same as war crime but use the mob, the mob leader is indirectly involved in mass offence and also destroying the social property and private too.

4- Multiple murderer is also engage like a war criminal but in other way, he/she may be psychopath so after the medical and clinical analysis we can go for punishment.

5- Killing of a police officer or public figure is also same offence like other offences but it may be conditioned murder or crime.
