(Answer) (7) Rousseau is entirely influenced by feelings and emotions in his confessions. He is even called the father of the Romantic Movement because of his appeal to emotions and nature as opposed to an adherence to facts and cold logic. Rousseau’s demeanour can be attributed to his difficult childhood since his mother died young and he was brought up by his father who was a watchmaker. His reaction towards instances seems metaphoric and poet.

(8) True – Because Rousseau claims that, he has acted with originality whether or not nature was right or wrong in making him the way he is.

(9) Rousseau viewed women as charming creatures, each of whom had their own temperament and nuances. Also, he was the kind of person who admitted to being afraid to talk to women and express his feelings towards them. (This folly, joined to a natural timidity, has always prevented my being very enterprising with women, so that I have passed my days in languishing in silence for those I most admired, without daring to disclose my wishes.)

(10) A – (1. but I found the reality much less terrible than the idea, and what is still more unaccountable, this punishment increased my affection for the person who had inflicted it.) ( I love liberty, and I loathe constraint, dependence, and all their kindred annoyances.)

(11) C – his brother.

(12) D – (Although I actually think the answer is A and C because A was a hypocrite who tried to cheat for his gain and C was a lazy clerk in a lawyer’s office. Rousseau was not really dependent but was not too rich to be as independent as he preferred.
